The children in the Ginkgo Classroom wonder: What is the meaning of HOPE? This was the topic of conversation during a recent morning meeting. "Hope can mean that you wish to do something." "I like hoping that my mom will come." "If someone doesn't do something now, they'll do it later"—a comment that extended the definition to trust.
How many lines and curves do we need to write HOPE?
Once they formed the word, they set forth on an outdoor mission to collect just the right amount of big lines, little lines, big curves, and little curves that we could find in nature.
Back in the classroom, they formed the letters.
Can we decorate the letters?
The letters are hanging in the window of the Ginkgo Classroom, visible from the Lower School Courtyard.
