Lincoln School students will once again participate in STYLEWEEK which will happen on June 15 at Capital Grille in downtown Providence. Art Majors in Anita Thompson's Senior Studio Seminar and students in the Art of the Assemblage course have been working all year on their designs which will be featured in the SEED Student Design Challenge.
Founded in 2009 by Rosanna Ortiz, STYLEWEEK Northeast (SWNE) is New England’s premier fashion week held in Providence, Rhode Island. STYLEWEEK has showcased over 192 designers from all over the U.S. on its runway since its inaugural week in 2010. STYLEWEEK is dedicated to the growth of the designers as artists and the mission of being recognized as a trade event that can provide an economic spark in Rhode Island. An exciting part of STYLEWEEK is the SEED Student Design Challenge which is dedicated to the advancement of emerging student designers. STYLEWEEK has had participants from FIT, Parsons, Mass Art, RISD, Johnson & Wales, and Lincoln School. This exclusive partnership provides our Upper School students with a unique opportunity to showcase their artistic and engineering abilities. These students then come together for one show where they are judged by an industry panel of fashion and press professionals.
This year 12 students are participating in STYLEWEEK!
