Class of 2020 Send Off

The Class of 2020 Senior Celebration took place Tuesday, June 9. Instead of an in-person procession filled with our beloved Lincoln traditions, this year we honored seniors via Zoom. All forty-nine seniors were featured on screen, with families, faculty, and staff watching and celebrating behind the scenes. An official commencement ceremony will take place at a later date.

Attendees heard from Sophie Wieting ’20, Allison Iawatke ’20, and class advisor and English faculty member Emma Stenberg.

After the ceremony convened, seniors piled into festively decorated cars and participated in a car parade, driving through the East Side and arriving at Lincoln’s red doors to take photos and pick up gift bags while maintaining social distancing.

While it was no replacement for an in-person send off, it was a great chance to celebrate this wonderful class in the midst of an unprecedented year. Congratulations, Class of 2020!
