At Lincoln, we believe that learning about cultures is a core part of language learning. This past week, students had the opportunity to put their knowledge of both to the test!
The American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) recently organized the 22nd annual National French Week. This week-long celebration of all things French took place in schools, communities, and AATF chapters across the country from November 3–11, 2022, with extended activities throughout the month.
At Lincoln, every student of French in Grades 6–12 participated in the National Francophone Culture Trivia Contest, which consisted of 25 trivia questions on Kahoot, a free online game site. Questions were in English and covered a wide variety of cultures and perspectives from all over the French-speaking world.
This year’s contest’s turnout was very impressive! Level A, which includes all Middle School students as well as students in French 1 and 2, was played over 1,600 times by 24,400 players. Level B, which includes all students in French 3 and higher, was played more than 1,100 times across the United States by 13,800 players.
We are proud to announce that both Grace O. ’27 and Mira Ye-F. ’27 are the top-scoring Lincoln students for Level A, and Alexandra D. ’23 is the top-scoring Lincoln student for Level B!
Congratulations to all of our participants and to our very knowledgeable top-scorers.
