Middle and Upper School Specialty Camps
Summer at Lincoln is excited to offer specialty camps and programs for Middle and Upper School students. These programs will teach valuable skills to help students grow as leaders, individuals, and friends beyond the traditional classroom. With an emphasis on art, creativity and leadership, these programs are sure to engage and enrich your summer!
Surf Camp
- Taught By: Nick Haase and Ryan Litwin | Instructors at Warm Winds
- Age/ Gender: Students entering grades 5 - 12 in fall of 2024 of all genders.
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Dates: June 17 - 20
- Cost: $450 (includes rental of surf boards, leashes, wetsuits and wax)
- Description: Life is always better at the beach! Spend a week catching the waves with our team of surfing instructors from Warm Winds at Narragansett Town Beach. This innovative program focuses on building confidence in the water, safety, and environmental awareness through fun activities that are aimed to teach the next generation of wave riders how to safely have fun in the ocean, protect the natural environment, and live the surfer lifestyle. Clay Creations
- Taught By: Anita Thompson | Head of Visual Arts at Lincoln School
- Age/ Gender: Students entering grades 6 - 12 in fall of 2024 of all genders.
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Dates: June 23, 24, 25 + July 8, 9
- Cost: $280 (plus materials fee)
- Description: Learn clay hand building techniques or reinforce the hand building techniques you already know and use! All levels are welcome to come and explore how amazing the media of clay can be. During week one of this unique class, students will spend three days completing clay creations designed and based on their own creative concepts, thoughts, and ideas. And during week two, after the pieces have been fired in the kiln, the students will return for two mornings to glaze their works of art. Come get your hands dirty and have a great time!
Girls Leadership Collaborative - High School Leadership Institute
- Lead By: Meg Stowe | Founder and Executive Director of Girls Leadership Collaborative
- Age/ Gender: Girls entering grades 9 - 12 in fall of 2024 (with specific modules for girls entering grades 9/10 and 11/12)
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Dates: June 26 + 27
- Cost: $175
- Description: Whether new to GLC or a longtime community member, come explore the work of GLC at a deeper level. You will learn, practice, and define for yourself what you feel it means to be a leader and create impact in the world around you. We focus on inclusive research-based content and methods and will explore the efficacy of leadership development practices, traits, and styles. We make learning FUN, dynamic, and experiential! We will explore developmental psychology and examine phenomena like group formation, risk/reward systems and their impact in all settings. You will gain both immediate and long term benefits from this connected, supportive, brave, and empowering community. Come hone your skills in effective communication, generate intentional, meaningful relationships, and practice living with authenticity as we spark joy for ourselves, and in one another. This experience also will equip you to facilitate GLC’s summer camp program!
SAT Prep
- Lead By: Dan Greco | Owner of Greco Tutoring and Math Teacher at Lincoln School
- Age/ Gender: Students who will be taking the SAT in the fall of 2024 of all genders
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Dates: (2 week long course) July 8-12 and July 15-19
- Cost: $600 (plus book fee)
- Description: With the new digital SAT in play and colleges beginning to reevaluate their test optional statuses, prepping for the SAT is becoming increasingly important. Taught by Dan Greco, SAT tutor of over 20 year, this course will cover all content areas, test-taking techniques, and more to help you score higher on the SAT. And the benefit to being at an in-person course as opposed to an online one is you'll be able to ask as many questions as you'd like and get immediate individualized feedback from an expert in standardized testing.
Girls Leadership Collaborative Camp

- Description: Join GLC's growing community of emerging leaders to develop as a leader, find your purpose, and make a difference in your communities. Together we will uncover your key strengths, find and hone your voice, empower you to initiate within teams, and build a world where groups come together to solve problems and shape the future.
Let's Make A Movie!
- Taught By: Diana Murton | Owner and Artistic Director of The Casting Project
- Age/ Gender: Students entering grades 6 - 12 in fall of 2024 of all genders.
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Dates: July 29 - August 2
- Cost: $280 (plus materials fee)
- Description: Write, act and shoot your own short film! In this hands-on class, students work both in front of and behind the camera to gain a better understanding of the difference between acting on stage and acting for the camera. We hone your improv skills (proven to impact communication and leadership), and participate in theatre games to get the mind, body, voice and imagination moving. Students have fun directing, designing sets, and developing script ideas together based on their own point of view and creativity. The program will end in a screening of their project (created, acted, and shot by the students) for friends and families.
Fast Fashion
- Taught By: Anita Thompson | Head of Visual Arts at Lincoln School
- Age/ Gender: Students entering grades 6 - 12 in fall of 2024 of all genders.
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Dates: August 13-16
- Cost: $280
- Description: In this camp, after looking at fashion trends which interest them, each student will work by themselves or with a partner to design and engineer a garment made only with recycled materials. Materials such as duct tape, plastic bags and cardboard will be provided, but they can add to these mediums by bringing in recycled products from home. Along with learning how to work in three dimensions, this camp reinforces creativity, cooperation, analysis, and risk taking. Students will also exercise their voice by talking about their piece when they present it to the group on the last day of the camp.
