Lower School celebrated the end of the year on the morning of Monday, June 5, 2017, congratulating a very special Class of '24 as they move on up to Middle School.
"The idea that everyone has worth, great worth, feels like a foundational piece of Lincoln School to me. And you, my friends, exhibit this day in and day out," said Lower School Director Maureen Devlin in her address to Grade 5. "Respect for each other comes naturally; you are great listeners and respectful debaters. You are supportive and protective of one another... You, as a class, have a magic. You are full of joy, inclusive, celebratory of each other's differences and strengths, and vibrant. I'm not sure that you yet recognize how remarkable your class dynamic is."
After rousing performances of Simple Gifts, Wherever I Go, and Unwritten, Lower School students and families came together to reflect on yet another successful year of learning at Lincoln School.
Though the Class of '24's 13 students will be dearly missed in the Lower School hallways, participants cheered cookies and clinked glasses of lemonade to wish them well in their next chapter.
"I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we hope you have a colorful, joyous, and magical time in Middle School," said Devlin.
