Lincoln's 2017 Community Action Day (formerly known as Day of Service) is an annual event focused on building sustainable and critical engaged partnerships with our greater community. 2017 will also feature a Community Action Day Panel open to all members of the Lincoln Community and friends. The panel focuses on a specific theme that both drives the student's partnerships during the day but also provides information and support for all those interested. The Lower School is being the driving force behind this year's theme, which is: Refugees: Finding Understanding and Support through Action.
We are honored to host Dorcas International Institute, Refugee Women's Care Center Rhode Island, Refugee Dream Center, AHope (Syrian Refugees), and the ACLU of Rhode Island. If you have questions about refugee policy nationally and in Rhode Island, are looking for information to support friends, family, or our local communities, or am simply interested in becoming more informed please join us for a panel discussion from 8:15-9:30 on Thursday May 18 in the Music Center.
Students will be partnering with many of these organizations throughout the day in the hope of building lasting relationships going forward.
