Dear Lower School Families,

In my first month back at Lincoln, I have had the opportunity to reconnect with some families, work with new and familiar colleagues, and to take time to see some of our littlest learners on campus take big steps on the playground, in their classrooms, and outside. One thing that makes our school so special is the community of learners that we bring together. This year, I look forward to taking every opportunity to celebrate our extraordinary community. With our new doors opening up this fall, we are excited to offer families more opportunities to join us in celebrating your students and their teacher’s work.

I am happy to share that we are welcoming two new faculty members to the Lower School this year: Quinn Lavigne, formally of Katherine Delmar Burke School, will be our Grade 2 teacher and Noelle Walters, formerly of the Advent School, will be joining our STEAM programming team. You can view longer bios and photos of all new faculty and staff here. We are also thrilled that Hannah Chambers-Lindquist, formally our Grade 2 teacher, will be returning as our Grade 3 teacher! 

Drop off, Pick up, and After School Enrichments
As a reminder, Lower School begins at 8:00 a.m. with drop off beginning as early as 7:30 a.m. at the front circle. Pick-up begins at 3:00 p.m. in the circle. Extended day and enrichment opportunities are available from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Please keep an eye out for more details later this month.

Lower School Hub
Here you’ll find important reminders for upcoming events, in addition to updates about interesting things that have happened in classes or in our larger community. 

Please visit the 2022–23 Welcome Page found on the Lower School Hub to:

  • Find classroom supplies lists
  • Review uniform needs
  • Upload up-to-date health forms and immunization records through Magnus, our student health record provider. Your child may not attend school without these on file.

Below are some important dates for the beginning of the school year:

  • Book Festival Benefit Night: Tuesday, August 16, 5–9 p.m. Flatbread Co. 161 Cushing Street, Providence
  • Lower School Popsicles on the Playground: Thursday, August 25, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. 
  • All-School Beginning of the Year Ice Cream Social: September 1, 6-7 p.m. 301 Butler Avenue
  • New Student Orientation: Tuesday, September 6, 8:30–9:30 a.m.
  • Parent–Teacher Connection Conferences: Tuesday, September 6, 12–4:30 p.m.
    • Look out for an email early next week with a sign-up form. 
    • We have in-person and Zoom meetings available for your convenience.
  • First Day of School: Wednesday, September 7
  • All-School Picture Day: Thursday, September 8
    • Forms will be available at conferences and emailed to you.
  • Middle School Sports Begin (For Grade 5): Monday, September 12
  • No School/Rosh Hashanah Observed: Monday, September 26
  • Lower School School Parent Night: Thursday, September 29
