Performing Arts

You are a performer.

Lincoln School students gain confidence performing on stage and in concerts from an early age, both in the classroom and through larger performance groups. Performing Arts are included in the Lower, Middle, and Upper School curriculum. In every division, music and theater classes offer the opportunity for you to explore creativity, team building, problem solving, and collaboration while building your performance skills and understanding the value of performance in the greater community.

We are an inclusive department that works with each student who enters our spaces in a way that is welcoming, encouraging to all, and helps our students to grow from where they are into more confident and skilled artists—both as performers and technicians.

Theater

Because all of our full-scale productions are student-led, the opportunities to participate and lead are abundant and wide-ranging. From acting, writing, designing costumes, choreographing, and staging shows ranging from A Midsummer Night’s Dream to She Kills Monsters, ClueCheck Please, and other works by contemporary playwrights, you will shine at Lincoln School.

Music

Starting with our youngest learners all the way through graduating seniors, music is part of life at Lincoln. We break silence with Simple Gifts, we sing ourselves into Spring Break with a traditional sing-a-long, and students have music classes during the school day. Upper School students can choose from a wide variety of options from choral singing, or our amazing handbell program, to rock band classes.
