How to Apply

Lincoln School welcomes applications from academically motivated and intellectually curious girls for Kindergarten—Grade 12 and from girls and boys from infancy–Pre-Kindergarten. The Admission Committee carefully considers a candidate’s academic ability and potential, extra­curricular involvement and talents, and interest to contribute meaningfully to our community.

Little School (Infant–Pre-Nursery)

The Little School: Infant–Pre-Nursery

Lincoln's co-educational Little School division include Infant, Yearlings, Young Toddler, Older Toddler, and Beech Tree (age 3) classrooms. We offer full or half day options as well as full or partial week spots.

1. Enrollment Timeline

  • Year-Round: Applications to the Little School are accepted year-round.
  • January: Re-enrollment for current Little School families
  • March: Enrollment contracts will be offered to new Little School families.
  • July: Little School program begins for our new and re-enrolled families.

2. Online Inquiry

The completion of the online inquiry starts the admission process. Upon submission of this inquiry, you will receive an email that provides secure access to Lincoln’s online Admission Portal.

3. Application for Admission

Once you have access to the Admission Portal, families can view and complete the admission application, and track the status of the student’s application. There is a non-refundable $55 fee to apply.

Lower School (Nursery–Grade 5)

The Lower School welcomes applications from boys and girls for Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten, and for girls from Kindergarten—Grade 5. Below are the steps to complete Lincoln’s Lower School application process.

Complete the Admission Application

Complete the application online with a non-refundable application fee of $55. The application deadline is January 31, 2020.


 

Schedule a Student Visit and Parent Tour

Every applicant is required to spend a day (or partial day for Nursery, Pre-K, and Kindergarten applicants). This visit to our Lower School allows the opportunity to meet potential classmates and participate in classroom activities. Parents will be provided a tour and a chance to meet with the Admission Team on the day of the visit. Please contact Diane Mota in the Admission Office at (401) 331-9696 ext. 3157 or dmota@lincolnschool.org to schedule this student visit and parent tour.

 

 

Transcript Release Form

Parent/guardian must sign and submit a transcript release form to the applicant’s current school. The applicant’s transcript is mandatory for review.

 


 

Teacher Recommendation

A recommendation from the candidate’s current teacher is required. Please submit the Nursery, Pre-K or Kindergarten applicant form or the Grade1—Grade 5 applicant form to your child’s current teacher.


 

Financial Assistance

To be considered for need-based financial assistance, a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) must be submitted online at solutionsbysss.com. The PFS, the most recent year’s federal tax return, and W2s must be submitted online by December 31, 2019. Any PFS completed after December 31, 2019 will be considered for financial assistance only as funds remain available.


 

Notification: Applicants who complete the process by our initial deadline will receive admission (and if applicable, financial aid decisions) on February 28, 2020.  After our initial deadline passes, we move to a rolling admissions cycle if spaces remain available.

Middle and Upper School (Grades 6–12)

The Middle and Upper School welcome applications from girls for Grade 6–12. Below are the steps to complete Lincoln’s Middle and Upper School application process.

Complete Short Response Form

There is no right or wrong answer here, however we ask each applicant to have fun and be creative in completing this form.
 


 

Transcript Release Form

Test scores from either the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test, www.ssat.org) or the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam, www.iseetest.org) are required.

Applying as an International Student

Lincoln School welcomes international applications (from students requiring an I-20 to study in the United States). Applicants should provide the following information:

  • Official school transcript from current school
  • TOEFL Test Score Report
  • Teacher recommendations from current English and Mathematics teachers
  • SKYPE interview with Lincoln Admission Office (contact admission@lincolnschool.org to set up this interview)
  • Copy of Passport
  • Verification of funding to cover full annual tuition and fees
  • A non-refundable application fee of $55

International Student Application Process

Once a completed application is received, the Admission Committee will review the application for admission and a decision will be provided.

  • If the student is admitted to Lincoln School, an official acceptance letter and enrollment contract will be provided via email. Once the enrollment contract is signed and the required deposit is paid, an I-20 form will be created and mailed to the student. Proof of health insurance is required upon enrollment.

International students attending Lincoln School are offered the opportunity to either reside at RIA Global Education or secure their own local housing and transportation. Lincoln School cannot coordinate living arrangements with host families. For more information about living at RIA, please contact:
