Home to all our 2-year-olds.
Two-year-olds are bustling with energy and curiosity—and we love it!
Our toddlers follow their natural curiosity, develop ideas, and learn about the world and their place in it. We take cues from their individual interests, learning styles, and abilities, with a Reggio-Emilia-inspired program that focuses on the process and foundation of learning—not the resulting product.
In the classroom, our toddlers engage in language, cognitive, social, and emotional development through hands-on exploration and group interactions. They explore a wide range of expressive media through thoughtful provocations.
Daily they can be found digging and sculpting with clay, dissecting flowers, mixing paints, manipulating light and shadow and exploring open ended materials and loose parts. All of these provocations are designed to encourage investigation and imagination.
On the playground our toddlers happily enjoy their time climbing, riding trikes, digging in the sandbox, and playing with friends. They are strong and capable and need this time outdoors to develop their gross motor skills while getting some of their energy out!
And most importantly our toddlers spend their days embarking on a journey into self-discovery, truly building friendships and learning how to forge relationships with others through shared experiences and negotiated play. Through their time together in a group setting they learn how to share materials, beautiful conversations, and play.
In addition to the learning our classroom teachers share with children in the Little School, they also benefit from a specialist series of classes, including French, Spanish, Music, Library, and time with our Atelierista.
