English
Through interactions with the written word in its many forms, English classes at Lincoln invite students to learn about themselves and the world. At every level, students develop their voices as writers and speakers, exercise critical thinking skills, and learn values for (and the value of) contributing to the broader conversation. From grade 6 to grade 12, students tell their own stories and respond to others in the form of analysis, reflection, discussion, and creative writing. Themes of self-discovery, social justice, and the human condition weave throughout the curriculum. In their senior year, students choose a specific seminar in which they learn new methodologies for literary and cultural studies to continue to explore enduring questions.
