What to Expect:

In an effort to take the mystery out of your daughter’s homework assignments, we’d like to present you with a GENERAL picture of a TYPICAL week’s worth of homework.


MATH:
1 -2 pages from the Math Journal (Due the next day)
Study Link (Due the next day)
Challenge of the Week (COW)  (Assigned Mondays, due Fridays)

READING:
Vocabulary exercises (Due the next day)
Comprehension questions (Due the next day)
Reading Journal response (Due the next day)
Megawords workbook pages (Assigned Mondays, due on Fridays)

LANGUAGE ARTS:
Spelling lists
(Assigned Monday- sentences due Thursday, Spell Check on Friday)

Writing Skills Workbook
(The number of pages and due dates will depend on the particular skill being practiced.)

3-4 pages Vocabulary Workshop (Assigned on Monday, due on Friday)

SOCIAL STUDIES:

Reading sections from texts that support the curriculum
Short responses to passages
Worksheets to reinforce skills learned in class
Interview with family member (2nd semester)
Scholastic News/current events (Assigned biweekly)
