Advanced Geometry: This course is designed to provide advanced work in geometry for students who have completed a full year course in Euclidean geometry. Algebra 2 is a prequisite and some familiarity with trigonometry is strongly recommended. Topics include in-depth work in symmetry, sequences, and patterns. Geometric probability may be covered as well as topics in non-Euclidean geometry such as spherical geometry, hyperbolic space, and topology. Most topics are explored using hands-on or computer-based activities and assessed through student projects. Students have the opportunity to independently explore topics that particularly interest them. This course is appropriate for serious math students and students whose interests lie in the arts.
