Candy Math

This week, the students in Grade Five ended their unit on Fractions, Decimals and Percents with a fun activity.  Each fifth grader was given conversation heart candies and had to separate the candy by color.  She then had to write a fraction for every color and convert each fraction to a decimal and a percentage.  The students made pie charts and bar graphs based on the data collected and enjoyed eating the candy as a reward for their hard work!
