 OVERVIEW

Seventh grade history is all about American History from a global perspective.  We begin the year talking about the American Revolution and how the United States was formed.  In other words, who, or what, is the United States? At the same time we examine revolutions around the world and compare them to the American Revolution.  From there we go on to explore various times and events in history that have shaped the United States in to what it is today.  Just as we have been shaped by events and people in our lives so too has the United States.  A perfect example is the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania all on September 11, 2001. That day changed the way people live, where they live and how they think.  It changed who we are as a country.

HOMEWORK

When homework is assigned it is due the following class.  If the homework is due on a different date I will let you know. Your homework may be handwritten or typed but each assignment must have the following information at the top of each page:

1. Your name - first and last

2. The name of the assignment (Ex: Review questions 1,2 & 3 on page 745)

3. The date

Points will be deducted if this information is missing.

YOUR HOMEWORK GRADE IS WORTH 30% OF YOUR OVERALL GRADE SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU COMPLETE YOUR HOMEWORK COMPLETELY AND ON TIME.

TESTS

I will give you plenty of notice of an upcoming quiz/test and we will have a review period prior to a test.  We will not have a review period prior to a quiz. We may have a take home test during the school year and I will give you more information about that.

THIS IS GOING TO BE AN EXCITING YEAR!   I LOOK FORWARD TO ALL OF US LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER BUT TO DO THAT WE ALL NEED TO PARTICIPATE.

I WANT TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE AND IF YOU WANT TO BRING SOMETHING IN TO SHARE WITH THE CLASS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BRING IT IN.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER!!

Please check your section page for all assignments.
