Rhode Island law mandates that anyone who volunteers at a public or private school must first pass a criminal background check. Please consult your division assistant to obtain the instructions for completing a background check if you have direct and unmonitored contact with students when you volunteer at school.
In the wake of the typhoon in the Philippines, an eighth grader who was born there is organizing a clothes drive (for used summer clothes) through an organization in CT that will ship the items overseas; clothes may be donated through December 13.
