Extended Day in the Lower School

Lincoln Lower School Extended Day Programs
Available before and after school hours

Lincoln School offers a diverse and engaging after-school program in the Plaid Pad every afternoon from 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.  In addition we offer an enrichment program called Lincoln After 3:00, a program designed to provide children with enjoyable experiences in a variety of areas including creative arts, sciences, languages, and athletics. Taught by Lincoln teachers and other experienced professionals, the courses are aimed at a variety of age and interest levels.

Morning Program: 7:30 a.m. - 7:50 a.m.

Lincoln Lower School students may arrive to school beginning at 7:30 a.m. They are welcome to join their friends in the Lower School Library under the supervision of two Lincoln faculty members.   Morning Extended Day is available from 7:30 a.m.-7:50 a.m. and is free of charge.  

Please note:  If you arrive earlier than 7:30 am, we ask you to accompany your child and wait at Mrs. Donnelly's desk until an Extended Day teacher arrives at 7:30 a.m.

Afternoon Program in the Plaid Pad: 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The Extended Day Program takes place in the Plaid Pad and weaves together students of different ages to provide an afternoon of community, activity and learning. There is a charge for the after-school program. The program runs from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.  The students enjoy opportunities for freeplay with their schoolmates, in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.  Children often participate in a variety of community service projects from sandwich making for Crossroads to inter-generational service projects. Students in grades 3-5 work on homework assignments under the supervision of a faculty member.

In addition to the Extended Day program Lincoln offers an Enrichment program called Lincoln After 3! Four sessions run during the school year with opportunities for children to explore and learn. There is also a charge for these programs.


Oak and Ginkgo Students at Extended Day
Students in the Oak and Ginkgo classrooms will gather with their classmates at dismissal time under the supervision of a staff member for an afternoon snack and age appropriate activities, games and crafts. 


Kindergarten through Grade 5
Students in grades K-5 are asked to report to the Plaid Pad. Once attendance has been taken by their teacher, students will be grouped for age appropriate activities.

Kindergarten – Grade 2 will enjoy free play together followed by activities that include games, crafts, and cooking.

Grades 3-5 after free paly in the playground, students work on homework in the Lower School Computer lab under the supervision of a teacher. 

 

Snacks

Snacks
Please provide your child with plenty of snacks and drinks for their after school visit; children need a healthy snack to hold them until dinner time.  We also recommend that younger children pack their after school snack separately from their lunch so that it isn’t eaten earlier in the day.

Extended Day Fees

Nursery - Grade 5 After-School Childcare (3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Five Days:    $3,100 (full year)
Three Days:  $1,800 (full year)
Drop in:        $25 per day
Drop in prior to or after a Music Lesson or Enrichment Class: $10 per hour

Nursery - Grade 5 Before-School Childcare (7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.) 
No Charge 

The Business Office will bill you monthly at a daily rate of $25.00 or an annual rate of $3100.00.  A late charge of $25.00 per fifteen minutes will be applied to your account if your child is not picked up by 5:30 p.m.  Parents using the service on an as needed basis are asked to provide a day’s notice, verbally or hand written, to Mrs. Donnelly at Lower School.  However, we understand that occasionally, there may be emergencies or unavoidable circumstances which prevent you from giving advanced notice.
