Welcome to the Plaid Pad

Lincoln Lower School's Extended Day Program
Available before and after school hours

Rise and Shine!
Our Morning Program

If needed, Lincoln Lower School students may arrive to school as early as 7:30 a.m. They are welcome to join their friends in the Lower School Library under the supervision of two Lincoln faculty members.  The comfortable atmosphere of our morning program, offers a friendly, relaxed start to the day.  Students have the opportunity to catch up with classmates, play simple games, or peruse the library for the next book they would like to read. Morning Extended Day is available from 7:30 a.m.-7:50 a.m. and is free of charge.

Please note:  If you arrive earlier than 7:30 am, we ask you to accompany your child and wait at Mrs. Donnelly's desk until an Extended Day teacher arrives at 7:30 a.m.

Our After School Daily Program

The Plaid Pad afternoon Extended Day Program weaves together students of different ages to provide an afternoon of community, activity and learning.

Plaid Pad welcomes Lincoln Lower School students (Oak Room-Grade 5) 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.  The students enjoy opportunities for freeplay with their schoolmates, in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.  This year students that are enrolled in the Extended Day program will participate in a variety of community service projects from sandwich making for Crossroads to inter-generational service projects.  There is also opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to work on homework assignments under the supervision of a faculty member.

Oak and Ginkgo Students at Extended Day
Students in the Oak and Ginkgo classrooms will gather with their classmates at dismissal time under the supervision of a staff member for an afternoon snack and age appropriate activities, games and crafts.

Kindergarten through Grade 5
Students in grades K-5 are asked to report to the Plaid Pad's home base, a classroom that serves as the homeroom for our after school students.   Once attendance has been taken by their teacher, students will be grouped for age appropriate activities.

Kindergarten – Grade 2 will enjoy free play together followed by activities that include games, crafts, and cooking.

Grades 3-5 will have some free play time in the playground upon arrival.  Shortly thereafter, is an opportunity to catch up on their homework.  A teacher will ensure a quiet and productive academic environment as well as offer homework assistance to them.  Please encourage your daughters to work on their nightly assignments while still at school, which will allow them more time to rest in the evening.

Please provide your child with plenty of snacks and drinks for their after school visit; children need a healthy snack to hold them until dinner time.  We also recommend that younger children pack their after school snack separately from their lunch so that it isn’t eaten earlier in the day.
