Welcome to the Middle School!

Welcome to the Middle School. We offer a rich curriculum through which all of our students have the opportunity to develop as creative and critical thinkers. Playing with ideas and solving problems that have complex solutions are the stock and trade of our academic program. We encourage our students to realize their strengths, to understand their areas for improvement and to enter into the learning process with curiosity and enthusiasm. In Lincoln’s Middle School, our classes are “Hands on and Brains on” and our girls play a lead role in the process of discovering how to think and act like scientists, artists, writers, historians and linguists. Lincoln’s Middle School students are encouraged to share their own unique ideas in the classroom while learning and practicing the values of hard work, resilience and determination.

Our program also offers a wide range of enrichment activities that inform the work we do with the students in the classroom, including Performing and Visual Arts opportunities, field trips, community service and service learning offerings and seasonal intramural and interscholastic sports. Within the context of our nurturing, challenging and innovative program, our girls all have the opportunity to stretch beyond their strengths, to consider their passions and to chart a course for the very bright futures that they have in store. Our students are building a toolbox of skills, everyday, that will help them to pursue their hopes and their dreams in the years to come.

Curriculum

The Middle School years are defined by our commitment to developing the genuine engagement of our students in the learning process. Using a creative approach to teaching, our faculty provide opportunities for our students to develop as flexible thinkers who have the skills and experience to take risks, collaborate with their peers and exhibit a cultural awareness that is part and parcel to an inclusive learning environment. We support each student in the development of her unique voice. The Middle School hallways are alive with the energy and enthusiasm that our students bring with them each day!
