Center for Peace, Equity, & Justice through Service
Tuesday's Branches
Tuesday's Branches is a student committee formed in the spring of 2007 by Emily Faxon, '09. It is a committee dedicated to providing grants to members of the Lincoln School Community who
wish to better the lives of women and children in southern New England through
service.
The hope of
Tuesday’s Branches is that
as students and teachers apply for grants, they will grow to understand
that the core of helping people is service. They will understand that money is
important to any organization working for change, but that dedicated and willing
hands are what make a lasting impression on those in need.
Most recently: In the spring of 2009,
Tuesday's Branches gave money to faculty member Holly Kindl for a project she created with Upper School students visiting Laurel Hill School in Providence. The students ran in-class lessons for the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade children and helped with craft projects. The money for the craft supplies was given by Tuesday's Branches.
