Center for Peace, Equity, & Justice through Service
Morgan Stone Day
Morgan Stone was a long-time student at Lincoln and served as a leader of 2B1, the school's multicultural club, when she was in the Upper School. Morgan was outspoken, intellectual, inspirational, and endlessly curious. She graduated in the spring of 2000 and died a few months later. Since then, Lincoln's annual celebration of "Morgan Stone Day" has commemorated Morgan's spirit and her dedication to issues of diversity and equity. Just as Morgan regularly challenged her peers and her teachers when she was at Lincoln, we take this opportunity each year to renew our commitment to creating a community that is inclusive and equitable for all. Each year, students in 2B1 select a theme for the day, formulate Essential Questions based on that theme, then invite guests from the extended Lincoln community and beyond into the school to share their perspectives on that theme through small workshop sessions.
