Summer Reading for the Faculty and Staff

Keeping with Head of School Suzanne Fogarty's tradition of giving a book to faculty and staff as a parting gift at the end of the school year, this year's pick, 2013's Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is: "so smart about so many subjects that to call it a novel about being black in the 21st century doesn't even begin to convey its luxurious heft and scope. Americanah is indeed a novel about being black in the 21st century.... but you could also call it a novel of immigration and dislocation, just about every page tinged with faint loneliness." - Jennifer Reese, NPR

Looking forward to discussing in the fall!
