Transportation

Lincoln School is an established regional school with students attending from over 60 communities, including almost every town and city in Rhode Island, and 26 in Massachusetts & Connecticut.

Buses provided for free by city and town school systems

Bus transportation is available from some cities and towns for children ages 5 and up in towns that offer busing, families must fill out paperwork before the first day of school. If you live in Providence you must submit paperwork by June 10.

To ride the bus from all towns EXCEPT Providence and Lincoln

  • Register at the RIDE Website.
  • Complete this form to request transportation. The form must be on file with the Providence School Department by July 31.
  • If you have problems, call the statewide office at 401-222-5024.
  • Deadline for registration is July 31. Late registrations will receive the closest point of pick-up or a depot stop location for a temporary bus stop, with permanent bus stop information assigned September 17.
  • If you are new to the system, you will receive information about how the transportation system works after you register.
  • The state will send bus assignments to parents by the end of August. Only families who register will get assignments.

To ride the bus from Lincoln

Families must download a Transportation request for Private Schools, fill out and fax or email to the address on the form. The initial list of Depot Stops for Private Schools.

To ride the bus from Providence

Families must download a Transportation Request form for Out of District Students, fill out, fax or mail to the address on the form. This must be returned no later than June 10.

Private Bus Transportation

Lincoln School offers transportation service from South County and Southern Massachusetts. The service includes a morning pick-up and two afternoon return trips. Please contact the admission office if you have any questions, (401) 331-9696. Additional fees apply.

School Pool

School Pool is a free service providing parents with a safe and reliable way to share the responsibilities of commuting to school.

Here is how it works:

  1. Click here to become a member. The process will automatically walk you through setting up your ride to your child's school.
  2. You will be blocked from viewing other rides until we have given you a user name and a password. Upon approval, you can then return and view potential matches.
  3. Once you find a match, use the built in email feature to communicate with your potential carpool matches.
Safety Facts:
  1. This is a confidential system. Last name, home address, and other contact information is never displayed to others.
  2. No information is collected about children.
  3. The general public will not see rides to your school.
  4. Only participating school administrators can give membership approval.
